President congratulates Putin after election victory

No, not this president.  That president.  Yep, in 2012 President Obama congratulated Putin on a victory, despite Russian and international criticism of the election's legitimacy.   You decide.  Why the difference in how this is being covered?   I think the answer is obvious.
