MSM continues its play by play of the hajj

Another interesting story that follows the developments of this annual pilgrimage.  So far, the stories about shoe styles and material shortages are at a minimum, as the media focuses on what the hajj is, what it means to Muslims, what its purpose is, and why it came to be.  I'm sure a scholar focused on studying Islam would find many things missing, many valuable pieces of the puzzle being left out.  Still, it's enough to give some basic information to non-Muslims about what is happening.

On the other hand, wait for that holiday formerly known as Christmas.  On December 24, the MSM will begrudgingly mention the fact that Christians do some things centered around the 'belief' that Christ was born here or there.  This will usually follow a month of consumerism and festive materialism, with the only religious references being the media's annual 'everything about Jesus was really a myth' stories.  I hope Muslims enjoy it while it lasts.

  1. I doubt we will get that much from the press. We will have shows and magazines reminding us that the whole Christmas story was a lie. But come Christmas, once the stores are done selling, we will be forgotten about.
