What crisis at the border?

I hate being right all the time.  But what did I tell you?  I said that the media's sudden push with the 'crisis at the border' was merely to force Biden's hand and make him give a press conference.  I said then that once he gave the conference the whole 'terror at the crossings' crisis would go happily to the sunset, and so it has.

At this point, I've gone four days since I saw one of the national news outlets cover the story, at least in the first hour.  Before the conference this was the lead in story, top of the newscast, story number one, headline news.  Since the conference?  Gone.

Local has covered it, second hour style.  It's on the ticker at the bottom, or sometime after a 'What's happening in Ohio' fluff piece.  Other print outlets are breaking up and going 'small, local story' mode, downplaying the overall crisis, giving accounts of this or that particular individual, no major thing.

This is what we call the press.  It long ago ceased being that.  It is a ministry of lies and propaganda advocating for the 90 foot statue of the Leftist State.  From fomenting race hate between Asians and Americans, to downplaying blacks as the main source of violence against Asians because - well, who are we fooling?  They don't give two swinging damns or a hell about anything against Asians but that they can exploit it.  In this case to shut down debate about Covid's origins.  The same with BLM, #MeToo, or religious liberty or even freedom and equality in America.

I'm at the point where I can no longer respect a person who believes the news media.  That's all news media by the way.  Just because this or that outlet publishes a story I agree with doesn't change a thing.  After all, how hypocritical of me would that be if suddenly I ignored the mountain range of evidence against the media just because on one fluke day it reported something I wanted to hear?  And how stupid?

  1. "The term for people who lobby for Democrat policies in this clumsy of a manner is “Democrat activists in the propaganda field,” certainly not reporters, or journalists. They need to be treated as what they are.

It’s time to stop acting like these political activists are professionals who do honest journalism. Continuing that pretense is not doing a favor to the public. It’s not true. With very few exceptions, these people are not there to do journalism, and we need to be honest about that with the public. Not everyone is as bad as everyone else, but nearly the entire press corps is somewhere on the Democrat activist scale, from lefty to fringe, from shrewd to clumsy and clownish."

    1. Yep. That was my one big problem with GetReligion. It was awesome on almost every level except this - being peopled by journalists, they couldn't bring themselves to admit the obvious. It always ended up in some variation of 'gee, these stories missed all these important points that would have made a leftist perspective look bad... we don't know why?' I think those who see the rising threat of the Leftwing still can't bring themselves to be honest about what is really happening. Which might be one of the things that allows such things to happen over the years.
