Good things can start with baby steps.  A school board in Virginia - Shenandoah Valley Schools - has voted to restore the names of Confederate generals to schools in its district.  The article says this is the first time in US history that a school district has done this.  I don't know how many times it has come up.  The names were changed in the anti-American protests and riots that took place in 2020. 

Of course conservatives hail Donald Trump as a prophet for seeing where destroying the statues of Robert E. Lee would end up going.  But that's not prophetic.  That's common sense and reality.  Anyone who didn't think it would end up being used to wipe out anything in America's and the West's history or heritage was either a fool or a coward or a Marxist.  Hence why Nikki Haley jumping on the bandwagon with the Confederate flags was a deal breaker for me.  Either she was willing to play with forces dedicated to destroying the Western Tradition and American Experiment, or she was hopelessly naive.  

But this is good news.  It will likely come under a withering assault from the anti-Western forces of the Left (let's finally be honest people).  And this would be a good time for citizens of the Democratic West and the heritage of the Western Christian tradition to rally around them and plant their banners around this school district.  I think one problem with standing up to the forces against the Faith and its heritage is the tendency we have of letting those who do so get shot to pieces by the Left. 

Another win for equality

Fast on the heels of this small victory for freedom comes another victory for equality and universal humanity.  A California law that would have made corporations hire based on various group identity labels over and against personal qualifications has been struck down as unconstitutional.

I'm sure there are more laws like this out there.  Likewise, aside from laws, there is pressure for everyone to see humanity through group identity glasses. God may have loved the world, but we must love the demographic group. 

Running along with this, we also have rejected equality and replaced it with equity.  What does that mean?  It means that, per the diversity training (labeled Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, or "DIE") we've seen in our own family's college education and work place training instruction, equality is bad, and must be replaced with equity.

But Dave, what does that mean?  It means depending on your group identity, we can assume you either have had privilege, or have been unfairly blocked from opportunities and chances to succeed.  Therefore, we must treat different people differently based upon what type of group they're in.  We can give to some, or take away from others.  Last year, when NYC said it would move minorities to the front of the line in the fight against Covid - therefore moving non-minorities to the back of the bus line - was an example of this thinking in progress.

And this isn't, by the way, some inferred belief about equality being bad.  It is stated explicitly in the training courses that equality was at best a pipe dream that was tried and found to be seriously wanting. It had, sadly, became a tool of oppression and discrimination and unfairness, and that's why we need to stop thinking in terms of equality.  At worst, some suggest equality  was always a sleight of hand to be used to keep the minority down.  Just as concepts like forgiveness, reconciliation, liberty and even democracy. 

Because this is happening outside the hallowed halls of law and legislature, my guess is we'll see more of these laws in the future.  As goes the culture, eventually so go the laws.  But a victory, no matter how slight and temporary, is at least a victory

A big win in the fight for freedom against the Left

If you get your news form America's news media, you've likely not heard of a significant Free Speech case going on in uber-Left leaning Finland.  Long and short, a Finnish PM as well as a bishop had been charged and prosecuted over publically reading from the Christian Bible.  

Many have, on the Internet and in other outlets, followed this case.  This isn't like some of the cases we've seen in England or Denmark or Belgium, where people have been arrested or charged for the same thing, but often under the auspices of some other "Hate Crime" violation or intention.

Nope, this was clear: We hate the Bible and anyone who fails to read the Bible through the lens of the Leftist State will be prosecuted.  From what I saw in those following this case, it actually looked rather bleak.  Many seemed to think a conviction was all but assured.

The good news is that they were wrong.  They were cleared of all charges.  Here's the story.  Not that it still isn't disturbing that factions in Finland all but want to make the open practice of traditional, non-Leftist Christianity illegal.  But saner heads prevailed for the time being. 

The reason why you've possibly not heard about this would be that the American Liberal Media don't like stories that might get Americans thinking.  They don't like stories where some could ask if all tyranny and fascism isn't always to the right of center.  Heck, it might get people to wonder if this is what the American Left wants to happen over here.

And we can't have those kind of questions, can we?  Which is why I don't think I saw a single MSM article about this during the entire ordeal.  Remember kids, if you get your news only from the American press, there's a 100% chance you have no clue what is going on in the world. 

President Biden gives me a choice

Will I consider myself a racist enemy of the State, or will I support President Biden's voting regulations overhaul?  With choices like that, I think I'll take Mussolini.  Whether Trump or Biden or Obama, I have never cared for politicians who give me the choice to be stupid or evil, or give them what they want.  That's too close to dictatorial thinking in my opinion. 

For what it's worth, it appears the President's attempts to act as if the last 100 years of progress for blacks hasn't happened has gone over like a lead balloon.  When you're a Democrat and even Joe Scarborough and - get this - Rev. Al Sharpton say you overplayed your hand where racism is concerned, you stepped in a big pile my friend. 

Go Bucks School boards

So Ohio's School Boards Association has cut ties with the national brand of the same, the National School Boards Association.  This over the despicable letter sent by the NSBA that labeled, rather broadly I might add, concerned parents as national terrorists. 

Beyond the conflict of interests charges that arose with the DOJ, or the growing idea that opponents of the Left and enemies of the state are one and the same, the bigger problem was the underlying message of the letter.  That message was articulated by such political gurus as Terry McAuliffe.  That is, after over half a century of parents being told to be involve in their kids' education and school systems, we now say shut up and get out of our way. So extreme was the reversal of that generation's long mantra that it caused whiplash for those hearing it. 

Literally.  Actual whiplash.  When I wrapped up my undergrad work, having moved from Political Science to Secondary Education, one of the main goals we were told to strive for was involving parents in the education process.  Get them into the meetings, get them to the hallways and byways of our schools.  But now, the latest example of 'you heard postwar liberals say thus, but the leftist state now says not thus.' 

Now, none of this is to say parents should be threatening board members, though I would like to see the actual evidence they were.  Charges of being threatened in the internet age are as common as actual threats.  A good way to avoid this, I should mention, is by not shutting parents out, shutting them down, and shooing them away when they're questioning school board policies and actions.  

One thing that began setting things off was schools forced to show what they were teaching during the lockdowns last year.  That caused parents to begin asking questions.  At that point, I remember local news stories earlier this year where parents said they were being shut down, told to shut up and deal with it when asking questions about their children's schooling.  That made them understandably angry. 

Again, not saying violence is right, it isn't.  But if the violence is defined as a parent trying to ask questions about raped girls in a school bathroom, and dragged out of a meeting for his efforts, that's not the same as a bomb threat. 

So a hot mess problem for the schools and their leftwing agendas.  Parents told to shut up and stay out of the schools' hair, parents being shouted down in board meetings as was happening earlier in the year, parents being labeled terrorists by a compromised DOJ,  and parents being told by high profile politicians to leave their kids' education alone, have conspired to make school board elections the hottest story in this year's election.  

Usually they're as interesting as the race for local dog catcher.  Not this time.  And that's not what the Left wants.  So expect to see more of this.  We call it damage control.  For their part, I appreciate the Ohio association's severing of ties with this egregious attack on parents and, as an extension, their students.  But it would have been nicer if they would have done this immediately, rather than wait to see where the backlash needle landed on the scale. 

Because freedom of expression is important

The Nobel Peace Prize this year has been awarded to two journalists for their tireless work for safeguarding freedom of expression in the Philippines and Russia.  No commentary.  Just thought it was interesting given the state of affairs in our country right now. 

Will it be district attorneys and grand juries next?

Or just lawsuits the way grandma used to make. So I posted on this a week or so ago.  It was about the Southern Baptist minister Russ Moore leaving the Southern Baptist Convention for good.  The article that wrote of this, as well as Deacon Steven Greydanus, seemed to post a warning for those who refuse to follow the emerging New Left (still have yet to find a good label for this global revolution):

If the faithful continue to turn a blind eye while leaders continue to perpetuate the status quo, God will turn to district attorneys and grand juries - and the pews will grow more and more empty.

As if the modern Left isn't the status quo.  But it was the uncritical warning of the power of the State stepping in to punish those who dare question the narratives and premises of the modern Left, where gender, sexual assault, race relations and other topics are concerned, that struck me.  Basically, these are Catholics, and Christians in general, aligning with the new Caesar and warning all Christians who refuse to follow suit that it will be Caesar (apparently at the Almighty's behest) who will then punish them for their disobedience - and a good thing too. 

Not that those bucking the Left are always right.  But note the easy way in which warning dissenters with threats of the crushing power of the State becomes the next rhetorical step up the ladder of modern compromise. 

I thought of that when I saw this, and this.  Apparently Dawn Eden, Catholic convert and blogger who loomed large in my early days of Catholicism, has gone to court to silence Austin Ruse.  Who is Austin Ruse?  No clue.  I've heard his name.  Perhaps I've linked to him once or twice over the years.  He might be a jerk, or not.  I don't know.  But apparently he's going after Dr. Eden because of her growing ease with targeting various Catholics and Catholic outlets, like EWTN, who are  bucking the Leftwing tidal wave. 

The extent of my legal knowledge

Apparently she didn't like that, so she went to court to get a restraining order.  I have no clue the details, what anyone said, what the courts said, what the decisions were or why.  I'm not a lawyer so I don't get legal-stuff.  I don't know if there is a case there or not.  I just notice that she went to the courts to silence this critic of hers.  

I have no doubt his persistent attacks might be hurtful for her.  They might be bad in general.  Maybe Ruse has gone overboard. I've seen Catholics do that on the Internet.  And not just traditional or conservative ones.  In fact, Dr. Eden has become no stranger to blasting various Catholics, Catholic leaders and Catholic outlets for daring to challenge various leftwing narratives and agendas.  Such is the sad world of the modern Internet.

Nonetheless, I'm not aware of any of those outlets going to court to silence her.  I'm not aware of anyone who has been in her crosshairs turning to the power of the state to stop her criticisms and condemnations.  Granted, many of her swipes do pull the old trick of targeting organizations rather than individuals.  Though not always.  And she may not go after them as much as Ruse has gone after her.  And she might be right about some of her criticisms, just as Mr. Ruse might be right about some of his.   But again, I've seen Catholics on the internet make entire subject threads based on going after particular Catholics they disagree with, like Matt Walsh or Michael Voris, and not always in the most polite ro charitable manner.  It is what it is.

Maybe Voris, Walsh or others have gone to court to silence some of their more zealous critics.  I dunno. If so, shame on them.  But Dr. Eden appealing to Caesar to silence someone who, perhaps going overboard, is nonetheless calling her out while she feels free to call out others, is more than problematic.  Unless he has threatened her or in some way encouraged violence against her, I think this is something she should take on with him one on one, or maybe in a public format, since many of her digs, like his, have been done in public.

But again, that aside, it's the appeal to the State, especially in light of Deacon Greydanu's twitter copy of the article about Russ Moore, that jumped out at me. The threat that "God" will be using the State to come after dissenters, and then a week later we see an appeal to the same principle already in the works, to me is noteworthy.  Whether it will or won't be Moore, or Greydanus, or Eden, when the time comes, it will be someone in the Faith who will gladly stand next to the boxcars and the camp gates ready to herd all dissenters into the stockades.  Never forget that.  Our age is no different than other ages in that regard.   As the organization formerly known as Boy Scouts used to say, be prepared.

My old Patheos editor Sam puts out the final word on this leftist fundamentalism and censorship movement. 

Yep.  The forgiving side of me would like to think he's joking; that he's being like Colbert used to be, and trying to do a mock-up of a caricature of someone who is fighting to defend the banning of wrong-think.  That's the forgiving side of me.  After all, I'd hate to think a professor in higher education would write something like this for any reason other than humor. 

Still, the side that has seen him unload on Bishop Barron over the bishop's concern about this wave of  Leftwing 451, I'm inclined to think that it's at least partially anger on his part, and he at least means some of it. 

In any event, I have it on the best of authority that many who are bothered by the Left's donning of their merry McCarthy do, in fact, read and study books.  In fact, it's the reading of books that makes them a bit squeamish about the whole leftwing support for banning offensive culture since I know they'll never do it to me.  

I should add that I'm sure there are some who rely on common sense rather than book learning to understand it's ignorant to assume censorship will only apply to those bad people over there.  Likewise, I'm absolutely sure that if many who support this new wave of censorship  haven't avoided books, they nonetheless have read and studied all the wrong books. 

Good for President Trump

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016.  For the first time since I was able to vote, I willingly left the office of president blank.  I may do the same again.  

And  yet I give credit where it is due.   President Trump is threatening to withhold funding from schools that teach the Soviet sounding anti-American propaganda piece The 1619 Project.  The purpose of the propaganda piece is to reframe America as founded in 1619, not 1776, and founded purely on evil: racism, slavery, and genocide.  The whole of the US is nothing but a historical precurser to Naziism, and nothing more.  The Soviets couldn't have produced a better hit piece.  Who knows, the Soviets may be doing it now. 

In any event, Trump has rightly said that our public schools will not be used as indoctrination camps teaching children to hate America, the American heritage, our founding principles and the Western Tradition.   Which is good.  We know from when Obama threatened to withhold funding from schools that failed to glorify the abstract genitals and the post-boy/girl world of transgender dogmas, that threatening schools with funding is a beautiful thing.  After all, when Obama announced this, utilizing pen and phone to do so, there was much rejoicing and praise of his wonderful name. 

So President Trump merely continues what Obama was so willing to do to the cheers of journalists and pundits everywhere.  Only this time, I think the cause is better.  That's just me, an old conservative partisan. 

The shooting of Jacob Blake: A different perspective

As we should realize, there are other points of view than those immediately embraced by the Left.   This one comes from the Kenosha Police Union.  According to them, the events shown in the brief video and the accounts given by Black's attorney don't tell the whole picture.

I'm sure they don't.  Nor am I saying we take the Union's version as Gospel truth.  I'm just and old fogey when it comes to things like presumption of innocence (on all sides), burden of proof (for all sides), due process (for everyone) and resisting that urge to declare guilt or innocence based on things like skin color or demographic label.  Again, that's me. 

Clearly we've moved to a new era in America.  Those institutions - like the media, education and entertainment - that used to declare such principles to be higher than the angels now appear quite ready to jettison the whole package.  Me?  In my efforts to not be an idiot, I think I'll prefer withholding judgement and execution until we've at least found some evidence beyond skin color and profession and other labels.  

It might be everything Blake's attorney and the video suggest.  It might be nothing close.  Let's pretend we don't know and wait for actual evidence.  

Great news for Nick Sandmann

Nick Sandmann, the young man whose life was almost destroyed, and which was threatened on multiple occasions, for the sole reasons of being white and not cleansed by the true saving blood of the Leftist State, has won another round against the Ministry of Lies and Censorship that led the charge against him.  He must have had some major case for them to buckle like this.  Shame on those who blasphemed the Gospel by siding with the forces of slaughter for debauchery by racism and hate simply because he dared think like a non-leftist.

I hope he wins more victories.  He has shown a million times more guts than 90% of those conservatives whining and crying about the assault on the Christian West and America.  I'm not talking about those who have joined those forces out to destroy the heritage of Christianity and liberty and life.  I mean those who speak out against this and then do ... nothing. 

Well done Mr. Sandmann.  May the mercy of God protect him and keep him from the snares of the Enemy, who is the true source behind the assault on him and all who oppose this attack on the Faithful of Christ.

On this Independence Day

A growing portion of our country is convinced the US has been nothing but a genocidal, racist, slave state from its beginnings.  That, of course, is ridiculous.  Americans of all identities, no matter their station and no matter how often Americans failed to live up to our blessings, are beneficiaries of one of the few revolutions in human history that worked and kept its promises.  If we want to know how most revolutions end up (present revolutionaries likely included), we should reread Orwell’s Animal Farm.  Now read The Declaration of Independence, be thankful, and have a Happy July 4^th. 

I missed the Tennessee day of prayer and fasting

Because I've been cutting down on the news (and being much happier for it).  John C. Wright has a snippet on it.

Good for the Governor Bill Lee.  I have no doubt atheist and other groups are screaming and wanting the governor's head on a platter.  That's because they want to impose their beliefs on us and eradicate or exterminate  thinking and beliefs they hate.

I think now Christians should realize the big con that was secularism.  We were told Christians did terrible things in the past.  We were told it is evil to try to convert others to your religious beliefs.  We were told it is Nazi to impose your values on others, or tell others their values are wrong.  We were told religion should stay in the closet where it belongs.  We were told no religion is True, and none have superior claims to truth. And we ate it up with a spoon.

Now, we are realizing that the ones telling us all these things have every intention of doing them to us.  The days of compromise and concession should be over.  But I fear there will be a great purging as those who are either cowards, or simply don't really believe in the orthodox version of their faith traditions, but merely carry a few of them around in their wallets to use on Sundays (or pick a respective holy day), will abandon the faith.  Many will side with the oppressors, the blasphemers, the heretics, pagans, heathens and enemies of God and Christ.  After all, they have long abandoned the idea that the actual historical Christian Faith is actually true, so why resist?

Those who are able to stay faithful, or realize the great and terrible flaws and mistakes in modern thinking and who return to the faith once for all passed down from the saints, will be there when this world we know collapses as the world the Romans knew collapsed.  And in such a horrific dark age as that will be, those who remain faithful to the true Gospel of Christ will be the ones providing what people truly need. And then the people will finally realize it and return and seek God's face.

Is a day of prayer and fasting a promise of all this?  No.  But it, and the reactions, should be seen as a start for where it will be.  FWIW, here is a nice piece from the National Review.  You don't have to be with a particular tradition of the Christian Faith, be a Christian, or even be religious to be on the side of righteousness and good.  You simply can no longer be on the side of mass slaughter for debauchery, tyranny and the destruction of Christ's church and His people.  That is the line that it's time to draw.

Good for the Texans

So some residents in Texas are filing a lawsuit against the San Antonio airport for banning Chick-fil-A.  This banishment was because of the it's charity work and religious beliefs about gay marriage.

Once again, from the top: Tolerance and diversity have as much to do with the LGBTQ community as ham does with kosher food.  To attempt any other spin is to be a fool or a liar.

Over at Rod Dreher's site, he picked up on a comment I made about the Orthodox and the gay rights movement.  While homosexuality is in the Orthodox Church like everywhere else, and there are those Orthodox who are pushing modernity like everywhere else, there is also strong push back against the gay rights movement (among other things).  This is, of course, seen as hate by gay activists.

I pointed out that it's tough to get too mad at those who might be overstepping the bounds on opposing the LGBTQ movement given what they are seeing happen in the West.  After all, they aren't stupid.  They see people arrested, fired, fined, threatened, and generally punished for doing anything other than bow before and worship at the altar of gay sex, and they see the writing on the wall if their country goes the same direction.

Several took issue with me, since in my comment I mentioned the companies my wife and I have worked for that made acquiescence and full support for the LGBTQ movement a mandatory part of keeping our jobs.   Different ones wondered what the fuss was.  Why should people bring up controversial subjects at work?  Shouldn't a company be able to keep employees from causing divisions?  Can't companies impose their values on their employees?

Finally, I had to ask if the LGBTQ community should be tolerant of those who disagree with it?  That, of course, isn't even a possibility.  Like all things to do with the Left, it is not about tolerance, or diversity.  The Left is a new political religion, a secular paganism, and it sees the old Christian Faith the way the old Christian Faith once saw pagans.  Though in fairness, Christians were more willing to see what good could be gleaned from pagan cultures than the Left - heavily influenced by Communist roots - sees in the Christian heritage.

Nonetheless, all is not lost.  While many Americans are going along with the move toward a Soviet America, and post-Conservatives are the worst of the lot, even as others put their heads in the sand and hope for the best, there are signs of resistance.  I don't know if it's too late.  But it's never too late to stand up and try.  This lawsuit is one small light of hope for freedom and religious liberty.  We'll see where it goes.

As if on cue

Mark Shea provides an example for 'who in the name of sanity would want our government to label an entire swath of our fellow citizens as domestic terrorists just because they oppose those politicians' policies?':

Yep.  That's right. Of course this is nothing new.  When Facebook (or was it YouTube?) announced it would proudly ban white supremacists, Nazis, white nationalists and other far right extremists, Mark was among the first to cheer.

I remember seeing a screenshot of a conversation with one of his readers who advised caution.  After all, see here. It could set a bad precedent.  No problem, retorted Mark.  They'll only go for those evil types over there!

You can't make this up. I've said for some time that you have to accept a large amount of BS, lies and idiocy to follow the modern Left.  And you must do so mindlessly, and blindly. Sadly, it's not just Mark.  From movements calling to abolish democracy as a tool of white nationalist imperialism, to college students convinced free speech and religious liberties were just sleight of hand instruments for white racism, to the popular push against due process, presumption of innocence and burden of proof in the name of condemning based on socially assigned group labels, there is much to be concerned about.

People, it seems, are just what Tommy said they are.  They've been that way for eons.  After billions spent on education and expanding access to information, they still are.   Somewhere Mark stopped being person, and became people.  It can happen to the best of us.  It has already happened to so many.

One victory for the Constitution

Against the forces of the Left. 

One of the most laughable outrages aimed at Trump is that he's a threat to the Constitution.  This outrage is from the same Left peddling the NYT's The 1619 Project, meant to portray the entire American experiment as a giant, racist, genocidal slave holding corporation.   That approach has yielded the growing number of young'uns who think it's time to ditch the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and all that pesky freedom, liberty, due process and presumption of innocence rubbish.  That they somehow are outraged that Trump is a threat to the very thing they're encouraging people to dismantle is one of the most hilariously twisted and moronic developments in the modern era.  And that's saying something.

But this is at least a momentary victory against crybaby Democrats and progressives who will insist the rules need changed or thrown out the window when they don't get their way. What do you expect from a movement that watched the following clip and must have concluded that the little boy with the bicycle was the hero:

Why sane people don't trust the Gun Control movement

Exhibit A.  A law that would add a financial burden on gun ownership meant merely to add a financial burden on gun ownership.  Of course the good news is that such measures meant to make gun ownership too expensive will ensure that only the wealthiest Americans on the coasts who get invited to the best parties in Manhattan and Hollywood will be able to afford guns.  Those rejoicing in this as a way to make gun ownership all but impossible (for anyone but the wealthy) are letting their ulterior motive slips show.

Reminds me of this scene (language warning):

Right.  We're not going to take your guns away!  You didn't let us finish our sentence.  We said we're not going to take your guns away ...

In addition to so much BS behind the gun control hysteria, the fact that our politicians are being compelled to ramrod gun policies of questionable effectiveness based on false premises, contradictory promises and conflicting data is troubling enough.  Add to it the obvious lie of 'nobody wants to take away your guns' and only a fool would fail to question their motives.

Meanwhile, the Democratic presidential candidates stumble over each other to figure out who can do more to tear down the whole American system so that they can go after the bad guys.  Kirsten Gillibrand makes it clear the Supreme Court could be rebuilt in the Left's image, while others are offering their own takes on just how much America we need to keep in order to put an end to all this dissension.

So I'm sorry.  We'll put 'nobody wants to take away your guns' right up with 'we'll only censor those evil Nazis over there', 'we want a non-politicized court' and 'nobody will be punished for opposing gay marriage' on the growing list of lies spewed by the Left.

A fourth October Surprise?

So the Pipe Bombs are all the news.  Around the clock the media is outraged and frightened, since several media outlets were targets of the failed pipe bombs, along with exclusively liberal politicians and activists.  The verdict is in.  Unlike the shooting of Republican congressmen Steve Scalise at a baseball park, in which we were told there was no connection to be made with political motivations, this is being portrayed as everything from pure Right Wing terrorism to the fault of Donald Trump.

The problem, as my second oldest son pointed out, is that anyone dumb enough to think this would help the Republicans wouldn't be smart enough to pull off a vast series of coordinated attacks against multiple targets across the country all on the same day.    And that continues to be the big bugaboo.  There simply is no sane motivation for a conservative activist to do something like this.  Everything was trending in ways that were far better than Republicans could have hoped for six months ago.  The Democrats were struggling.  Radical Leftists were leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many Americans.  So why would a conservative or Republican activist think this would help?

Of course there is plenty of reason to be suspicious, the lack of sane motivation being the most glaring.  Another is the speed with which everyone immediately dismissed the idea that this could be done by a liberal or leftist activist, or any other non-affiliated activist (Russia anyone?), as if such a thing has never happened in the history of the planet.   Here, National Review jogs our memory with examples of faked scandals meant to make someone else look bad.

And furthermore, this sudden disdain for anything but pinning this on the GOP comes from the same sources - the press - that were quick to insist that you couldn't pin the baseball park shooting on anything political.  Even if the shooter was a vocal Democrat, Bernie Sanders supporter, who swore against the GOP and promised to finally stop the Republicans at all cost when he went to gun down Republican congressmen exclusively, there was still no connection to politics.

My sons, in discussing the developments, have speculated that it could simply be the latest in a string of attempted October Surprises.  The others - the Kavanaugh hearing, the Saudi journalist, the immigrant caravan - have not had the 'GOP as Nazi!' impact that the press/Left had hoped.  Perhaps this is a last ditch effort to do anything to stem the tide turning against the Left.  Who knows?  My sons, like I, concede that if proof of conservative or right wing operatives is found, then obviously it needs condemned and the criminals prosecuted and blame placed where it belongs.

But we'll at least wait for someone or something to be caught or discovered.  As itchy as the Left is to set aside due process, presumption of innocence and burden of proof, we'll withhold any judgement until we know more.  Perhaps that will set an example to those who have already declared all Trump supporters assassinating murderers who need to be crushed once and for all - without evidence.   We will also pray for peace and that our country turns back from the brink before such things don't include lame devices doomed to fail.

UPDATE: The first valid reason has been offered why someone on the Right would do such a stupid thing.  Apparently one of the pipe bombs had some Islamic insignia on it.  It is possible that some wacked out, white nationalist type would try to frame Muslims in light of the upcoming Caravan of Immigrants.  Again, it would take a coordinated effort, and there would need to be many involved.  But it could be.  Fair is fair, this would make sense.  IT wouldn't bear down on the GOP, and given that the GOP universally came out and condemned this, as did conservative media outlets like FOX News, there is no reason to blame them for this.  Though betcha they will be blamed no matter what.  We'll see.

That's one victory for America

One defeat for the Left (which, at this point, should be recognized as being the antithesis of America, Christianity, common sense or basic decency and honesty).   A former fire chief who was fired for publishing an unclean book that failed to affirm the Leftist gospel has been awarded 1.2 million in damages.  Good.  Let that be a lesson to those who would abolish the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount and everything that merged to bring us a nation striving for freedom, democracy, equality and basic human rights.

Read it here.  Like most branches of the Left, they are for a police state that resurrects old sexism and racism with new skin colors and genders.  They want justice wrenched from the courts and taken to the streets.  They are tired of due process, presumption of innocence and burden of proof.   In short, they want just the kind of world that the American Experiment was supposed to fix.  Consider that this November.
