I think they're past worrying about consistency. If it benefits them, it's true. If not, it's false. And they have no problem saying laws should apply differently to different people.
As I told Nate, I think the left is past that sort of argument. They have no problem applying different principles to different people based on their identities.
To use their logic: "hey if you don't like it, just don't go to school in Louisiana."
