That was my guess

I posted on the mixed up messaging with Juneteenth here.  For the record, I finally blocked Greydanus at FB because I was tired of the mendacity.  Beyond so much BS regarding not admitting the obvious, he is definitely a white guy who has bought the 'white is evil' narrative.  He will bypass the horrors of many suffering innocents until he can find someone white to post against.  Well, despite blocking him, and because of his perpetual focus on only white crimes, I saw a copy of this in a thread:

As a disclaimer, it didn't include the post itself, and because I blocked him I don't know what he said.  But I'm willing to guess.  Nonetheless, take note.  It's apparently linking to BLM activist Gloria Purvis.  Why now?  If my math is good, it's the 9th anniversary of the tragic mass shooting.  Not exactly a milestone.  So why now?  And in Pride Month no less?

But that's the point.  The reason I posted my post about Juneteenth was that we noticed a few stories about random civil rights topics this month. A murdered black person from the past here, a falsely accused civil rights activist there, a reminder of the history of slavery over there.  And in Pride Month?  What gives?

That's when it dawned on us.  Having made Juneteenth a thing, the Left can now designate yet another month to the trashing and hashing of the rehashed trash of America's vile sins and evil past.  Couple with those now saying Juneteenth is a day about black culture, and others saying it is Independence Day for blacks, whites can have their own, it's obvious where this is meant to go.

So once again we are told by those on the Left that if we do something it's because of some lofty, harmonious and unifying goal.  Only to realize a year or so later that this is not the case at all.  Once again it is to tear down and destroy the West, the US and the Christian traditions.

UPDATE: So Greydanus has stepped in with his reaction to the debate last night. Remember Trump's  celebration of Nazis all those years ago.  And now Trump says he doesn't know if Washington owned slaves.  Of course Washington owning slave is really the only thing worth knowing about him today.  And one of the reasons I blocked Gredyanus, things like sanctification or redemption by Christ or working out one's own salvation have definite stopwatches and time limits.  When I pointed out that America ultimately did right by the Civil Rights movement, he shot back that I should look at how long it took. I said I didn't think there was some time limit for people - much less entire nations - striving toward holiness and doing good.  But for him, yep.  His Catholic Church has all sorts of limits and provisos.  I can't say if he applies the same to transgender mutilation, abortion or black on non-black racism, or continued attacks on the Jewish community by pro-Palestinians since he never dwells on such things.  But this is why I don't follow him any more.

    1. He wasn't always, and that's the shame. He now blames Trump for everything. Perhaps he doesn't act the way he should, but Trump. An excuse I have little use for.

  2. Even Snopes has given up the fight and Greydanus is still defending the lie.

    1. I unblocked him to see. He just wrote this yesterday: Steven D. Greydanus
A reader asks in the comments if I’m going to be “even-handed” and write about Biden’s debate performance next.
10,000 problems with that, obviously, but the most germane: Biden supporters are overwhelmingly realistic about the debate. I’m writing about “very fine people” because Trump fans still think it’s fake news. If Trump supporters were all like “I’m holding my nose and voting for Trump because Biden’s positions on issues like abortion make him worse, but doubling down on terrible comments like ‘very fine people’ doesn’t help matters,” I WOULDN’T BE WRITING THIS.

  3. About 4% of justiciable homicides feature a black victim and a non-black perpetrator. Don't expect Greydanus to every acknowledge that.

    1. He seems to revel in the Left's tendency of separating a molehill stat from the mountain range and focusing only on that. I tried to get him to see outside of leftwing media narratives and it did no good. That's when he fell into troll mode.

  4. I was reading this article and found a paragraph that seems to explain Steven perfectly.
I once knew a Russian psychoanalyst who argued that to feel hatred was inevitable, and that if you denied yourself an outlet for so powerful an emotion you would become ill. The important thing was to be careful who or what you chose to hate, how much, and for how long.

Steven has found an outlet for his hate.

    1. His partisan loyalties at least. As I've said, he wasn't like this in the early days. Not by a long shot. Now he is like that and then some, and when his nastier approach is pointed out in light of his insistence he's just a fair and balanced nice guy wanting everyone to belong, he blames Trump. Literally saying any changes for the worse are because of Trump. That's a type of partisan that is very, very difficult to deal with. Which is why I more or less have moved on.

  5. I do not believe that anyone can really explain the hatred people have for Trump. It is not logical or even reasonable. People say things that offends others all the time but the offense people feel for this man is inexplicable. It is visceral, even demonic. Even when you ask them why they hate him so much what they come up with makes no sense. They'll say he's immoral because of his multiple wives, yet if you tell them Joe Biden messed around with Jill Biden while his own wife was in the hospital you get crickets or they'll say that's not the same. If you mention the woman that has accused Biden of molesting her on the job you get no reaction. If you ask them to compare four years of Trump with Bidens less than four years as president their response is like listening to The View. I even ask them why they voted for Clinton. Was he immoral? Didn't stop them from voting for him anyway.

No, there is something very strange and dark going on here concerning the rage directed at Trump. It's almost as if an eerie mental control has descended on this country causing people to completely jettison their ability to discern good from evil, right from wrong. I've seen it first hand with people I know, with whom I was mostly always in agreement with turn on a dime ONLY after the appearance of Donald Trump and just like that they announced their hatred for him. Strange indeed. Scary actually.

    1. So a recent guest on Tim Pool's show had a discussion where he talked about his work with hypnosis (If the timestamp doesn't work on that link, go to the 7:50 mark) explains that when we consume information we put ourselves in a trance-like state and what is happening is the Left is applying hypnosis techniques to the masses.

Which... starts to explain everything about Trump. They're not being reasoned with, they're being conditioned to hate him. Which you can see in Steve's post.

    2. Which as Pool's guest says when we say the left is indoctrinating it is true. It is absolutely true. They are hammered with the same lies, words and ideas whether they are true or not until the people believe it, feed on it, ingest it and incorporate it into their very core of beliefs. They are in effect hypnotized as was said. Once they have these ideas embedded deeply into their mind they WILL lash out with rage if you contradict them. The best phrase I've read is feelings do not care about facts. I see that in my neighbor everyday. Its scary and sad.

    3. I've often said propaganda and brainwashing works on the weak and the willing minded. In the case of Greydanus, I don't think he's stupid at all. He has simply embraced an alliance with the Left and therefore embraces the talking points and all the reasons to justify endorsing a movement that increasingly can't scream 'we're evil' from the rooftops loud enough. Part of how this done - and he's hardly alone - is to accept the leftwing talking points about Trump, MAGA, conservatives, the GOP, Christians, or anything being nuclearholocaustgate and an immediate threat to billions. Therefore whatever the Left says, fighting for the Left is the only option. This also includes downplaying or outright refusing to address any evil left of center no matter how many try to strike up a discussion.

    4. Which leaves a scary option for the Left to use that the right doesn't possess: do everything and anything to win. The end will justify the means if it means the left will be victor

    5. I think we've watched that as the Left has shuffled its feet and tugged its collar in response to the open support for Hamas and the worst single day slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. And this after the skinning of people like Candice Owens or Kanye West for what they've said. In fact, Greydanus still trashes those two while the most he says about the support for Hamas is variations on 'gee, there is obviously some antisemitism on both sides, but there are good people out there protesting Israel too!.

    6. Some very fine people on both sides, eh? ;)

    7. Yep. He said so. Sure, there's some antisemitism on both sides (a sort of 'generic, let's not go insane here people' type of antisemitism), but there are good people out there too, with legit complaints on both sides. But then he also accepts the Hamas=IDF as well, so there you go.
