We wish those Nazis would tone down the rhetoric

 Exhibit A:

Just the hilarity of the jab 'not-toned down' followed by Ethnic Cleansing!  Why can't those sexist fascists stop being so divisive and admit they're racists?  Heh.

The number one reason I left liberalism even before I became a Christian was because I started noticing a wide chasm between what they said to others and what they did themselves.  As always, hardly the only people in the world to do so.  But among the left, especially over the decades, it has become the universal defining characteristic of modern progressivism.  Standards for thee, but not for me.

The enemy of the Christian West is their friend

Thus

I'm old enough to remember when it was offensive that Western women, like journalists, had to don such apparel when visiting a Muslim nation.  Heck, I can remember when the very appearance of such apparel was seen as an affront to women's universal equality.  But I do believe that if that the Left, or some ally committed to the demise of the Christian West, said here wear this:

that liberal women would fall over themselves to do just that.  And not just feminists. For instance:

Yep. Because we know that nowhere in the Muslim world do those within the LGBTQ lifestyle enjoy anything close to equality, if not the ability to survive.  But the enemy of the West is the Left's friend.  Better the Muslim world thrive even as it crushes gay rights than the country that panders to gay rights not be destroyed.

Oh, and I'm not stupid.  I know one of the Left's talking points is that if anyone not Euro-American does something bad, like oppress homosexuals, browbeat women, murder Jews - it's because they learned it from the West.  That is not only a common retort, but an increasingly accepted one. But that sort of BS that only an intellectual could believe is for another time.

Sam Rocha sets the record straight

 Heh:

I had to chuckle.  First, note the opening sentence.  That made me laugh out loud.  "Similar and related authoritarian ideological dynamic."  I couldn't help remembering this post of mine from a few weeks ago.  That's Sam trying to make what he's about to say appear academic.  You know, scholarly.   That way some might think 'Gee, some academic guy with a degree is saying this, so it must be true.'

Anyway, the rest of it is just the typical Leftwing 'ARCs are tunneling under our homes' hysteria.  EWTN, which has replaced the KKK in the mind of many leftwing Catholics, is in the crosshairs.  Word on Fire, the once beloved Bishop Baron's pet project, is also lumped together in the line of fire.

Why?  Apparently neither outlet presents Pope Francis's teachings.  Because the pope's teachings - ba, ba, bam! -  threaten the unclean group.  Meanwhile, Word on Fire attacks any who present the pope's teachings?  I know EWTN has become pretty vocal in its criticisms of Pope Francis and his die hard supporters.  I was unaware of Word on Fire doing the same.

Unless, of course, Sam is invoking the classic 'To disagree with a liberal is to hate, attack, threaten, and on and on' tactic.  I'll have to look into WoF's blistering attacks aimed at those presenting Pope Francis's teachings.

I just had to chuckle at his calling them cowards, all the way from the safety and security of his keyboard.  What would be swell would be for Sam to meet on a live interview with Bishop Baron and make the same claim to his face in the exact same manner that he has done here.  That, my friends, is an interview I would definitely watch.

I had no idea

Hmmm, why do I already question the historical accuracy of this?  Let me see.

My problem isn't that a black woman is playing the role of a woman who historically wasn't black.  If blacks want to do their own historical productions recounting European history, I'm actually OK with that.

My problem is that at the very same moment, if a white woman played Harriet Tubman or a white man MLK, or Shaka Zulu, you'd have screaming from coast to coast.  Accusations of racism and cultural appropriation would fly like bullets.  That is a double standard based on ethnicity.  And that, of course, is racism.

Racism has come back to American life in ways we've not seen since Jim Crow.  Furthermore, it's fully endorsed by our educational institutions, our popular culture, our news media and even our churches and religious leaders.

Those who are aghast at this are divided into two camps:  Those trying to find somewhere to compromise and those who are aghast at this but find little in the way of support for calling it for what it is.

What will come of the future I don't know.  Ten years ago I didn't think a person would be fired for saying there is such a thing as boys and girls.  Nor did I imagine that a growing number of Americans would accept that  all whites are racist, therefore such contributions of old white racists as freedom of speech or equality must be jettisoned.  Therefore I'm not in a position to make guesses.

I just see that things are happening fast.  Those who insist it's all a big bunch of nothing should fly to Munich.  I'm sure you'll be able to secure peace for our time.

Well said Russ Moore

I give ol'Russ grief for finally coming around to where many of us were back in our seminary days.  He was clever enough to wait until he was more than just some schmuck student to state the obvious: that many in the Religious Right had become too political.

Nonetheless, right is right, and laborers in the vineyard at the eleventh hour an all.  His strange sort of fealty to some conservative traditions while taking off the gloves and going after Trump, and also embracing many of the progressive interpretations of our history, has given him a voice where most Southern Baptists have never gone.

This is why he has found quite a following among many post-Conservative Christians, including those in the New Pro Life Movement who sound strangely liberal, except for being against abortion itself.  To square that circle, they typically accept the pro-abortion rights template that abortion only exists because innocent women are forced to have abortions by evil, rapist men and Capitalism.

And what do they think about those who disagree with their political allegiance to the Left, yet oppose abortion?  Easy.  Those old time pro-lifers only care about babies before they are born - if then.  Once they're born?  Bah.  They don't care for mothers or children or families or anything.  They really don't care about abortion.  They just use babies as human shields for their vile greed and racism and desire to increase human slaughter through war and death penalties and all that jazz.  Classic pro-choice rhetoric 101.

So Russ sets the record straight.  Well done.  It's one of the travesties of our age to see so many millions who have given through blood, sweat, industry and tears to help children, women, families and the unborn besmirched and slandered by those who are trying to shove the square peg of the Gospel into the round hole of the political Left with all its manifold blasphemies and heresies, infanticide and tyranny.

Perhaps those who see Russ as kindred spirit in their march toward the progressive cliff will actually heed his words, even when not convenient.
