Is best demonstrated by its almost knee jerk tendency to assume malice in anyone who strives for what common sense once said was good. Here, NPR swoops in to suggest the sudden concern over our dangerously low birthrates could be - you guessed it - thinly veiled white nationalist white supremacy racist Naziism. Because of course. Apparently anyone thinking more babies are good must be motivated by wickedness. Which speaks volumes about the NPR mentality, if you think on it.
As a bonus, I love how the above artwork displayed in the piece has a white family, which obviously is suppose to elicit panic and visions of Nuremberg rallies on the part of the reader. The idea that a white family is supposed to suggest something evil purely by being a white family is hilariously demonic. But it shows how far the Left has come in its apparent conclusion that the only problem with the Nazis was that they race hated and mass exterminated all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons. Remember kids, if you ever and only reference an ethnic group, skin color, or other demographic based on accident of birth purely in negative, accusatory or pejorative ways, then you're a racist.
Naturally the content of the article is of no importance. It's the usual building a false molehill by ignoring a mountain of inconvenient facts and suffering and human experiences. In other words, contemporary journalism. I seriously doubt that science can possibly invent an instrument able to gauge the utter worthlessness of the modern media.
Tesla cybertruck in the image too. They're not being subtle.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because I just watched a full interview with this guy who is pointing out that if you want an economy, you need families.
Here's a short on his key point.
This one is a larger, 6 min clip where he brings up the key point, "we're eating our seed corn."
Seeing that abomination of an NPR article brings to mind something I've seen James Lindsay point out in various places. Namely that so many movements will turn murderous when they cannot be questioned or ever admit fault. And the Left is in danger because they have reached the point nothing can ever be questioned because as soon as you do, it starts to kick off a chain reaction back down the line of all their other progress. (Even if they don't realize it, this is why you see things like them claiming that if we end gay marriage, mixed-race marriage will be ended next.)
But even the communists recognized the need for children. They literally handed out "The Order of Maternal Glory." How sad is it today that their heirs turn against even this elementary truth that children are necessary?
Oh yeah, while confirming that this is real, I noticed a couple more details...
ReplyDeleteThe caption to the image posted:
"Pronatalists believe that modern culture has failed to adequately prioritize the value of nuclear families and making lots of babies. They see powerful potential allies in Elon Musk and JD Vance."
And I see they're writing about Simone and Malcolm. Well, instead of reading about them, you can encounter them directly on their YouTube channel.
Just the fact that so many sides of the Left are beginning to act like wanting kids is like wanting gas chambers shows everything a sane person should need to see. Though what is more telling is the stunning silence from so many Faith traditions and its leadership - including those who haven't thrown in their lot with the Left. I'm not saying everyone pushing for the importance of more human life is 100% right on everything, or that there couldn't be bad actors - in what group (including the Left) would that ever be the case? But again, rushing to put it under a bushel seems to be the primary tactic by the faithful and our leaders in the world today.

ReplyDeleteThe cartoonist does not understand human genetics. If Mom is blonde (recessive) and Dad has dark hair (dominant), you're very unlikely to have five blonde kids.
True, Tom, except hair is a sex linked gene - which means dad doesn't transfer his to his sons, only his daughters.
DeleteSo the sons will definitely have the blonde hair of their mother. The daughters would end up with the dark hair of their father.
I'll guess you put more thought into the accuracy behind the picture in the time it took you to type that than the artist did through the entire project.
DeleteGenetics aside… this artist doesn’t understand finances. Nobody with 7 kids can afford a Tesla Cyber Truck 🤣
DeleteHeh. Yes, because the car that would save the world is now the automotive version of a Swastika - and all because he said he would buy Twitter and unearth that story the press has now embraced.

ReplyDeleteWhose bust is in the garage (and what married man exercises in front of guy's bust?) Wrong head-shape and hairline for the H-guy. Is it Frederich Nietzsche (who never had kids)?
Nietzche, I think.
DeleteAnd get the 'Man's World' poster. That household looks like a 'Woman's World' to me. A father of six with a seventh on the way is the servant of his family with little or no time for just himself.
I thought Nietzsche, but I could be wrong. I think the negative stereotypes is the important thing though. The assumption that if one only trusts in Jesus instead of the political Left, we can assume Nazi. That shock is how many Christian leaders appear to have embraced this idea.
DeleteAnd note the eeeeevil Cybertruck in the driveway, because MUSK!
ReplyDeleteAt this point, it's fair to say the modern Left portrays any dissenters with all the subtlety that German propaganda portrayed Jews in the 1930s.
DeleteI don't think we'll have much to worry about NPR and PBS in the near future now that federal funding has be revoked. Let's see how many donors will keep it afloat if their broadcasts are so important for the nation.
ReplyDeleteA long time coming. If they were to scrap where they have been and try to even pretend to provide open and honest discourse, I'd be fine with them getting tax payer help. But they have so abused it for so long, I don't shed any tears.
DeleteThat is why I was ticked off when it was revealed that the US gov't was providing funding through USAID to news agencies, the very ones who kept pushing their socialist/communist agendas and fought tooth and nail against conservatives. I don't know how many people noticed but the government under Trump no longer calls news agencies 'Main Stream Media' any more because they are not mainstream. They are now called Legacy Media.
ReplyDeleteI've seen legacy media more and more. I assumed it was a way of saying that old time, long gone media that no longer matters today. Though I think rumors of its demise, just as there were such rumors more than a decade ago, are still premature.
DeletePremature? Agreed, but not main stream.
