Unity: A reflection

So we've heard all about unity over the last couple weeks.  Unity, unity, unity.  Well, by my lights, if you really want unity then you don't get to pick and choose when it's time for unity.  

Just my two cents worth.

    That's basically the unity which is proposed for us: to be devoured.

    1. Yes, as Inigo Mantoya observed, they keep using that word but I don't think it means what they insist it means.

  2. I forgot how long ago it was but Jonah Goldberg used to love to say in his speeches: "You never see anyone say 'in the interest of unity, I'm going to put aside my principles and agree with you.'"

    1. Like so many things today, we know what they mean when they say unity. Sadly, there is nobody to call them out on it. I think that's why much of the rage among those who know better.
