Mark Shea and the Left's horses and chariots

Why I now avoid Mark's writings like the plague is touched upon here.  Mark can't join with the secular left which simply disdains all appeals to dumb prayers and a non-existent God.  So he appears to take a different approach. Prayers and God are fine as far as they go, but those who appeal to them without deferring to the efficacy of political liberalism only do so because their wretched hearts and souls really worship guns and pine for increased human slaughter.  So it's the inner motives that are the problem, rather than appealing to some fairy tale God in deference to the State. 

For me and my house, I'd prefer to stand with those appealing to prayer, God, personal responsibility, and a return to better morals and a nation of Faith, rather than hold hands with those willing to whip it out and piss all over the Almighty, and those who were murdered while worshiping Him.
