The Orlando Shooting: A Fundamentalist Response

Is here.  A common trait of a fundamentalist, at least in Christian circles, is to equate one's opinions or insights with the infallible Word of the Thrice Holy God.  It then stands to reason that anyone who doesn't see it your way necessarily doesn't see it God's way.  Hence charges of blasphemy, heresy or threats of Hell-fire and brimstone follow.  For what it's worth, it's not just Conservatives or religious people who are fundamentalists.  I dare say we all have a little fundamentalist in us about certain issues, as well as some liberalism.  It's just that for some, that stereotypical fundamentalist trait tends to emerge as the dominant trait, rendering hope for meaningful discourse all but hopeless.
