When you're out walking around your neighborhood, and you see a bunch of signs in a yard celebrating someone's 40th birthday.
At first you smile, then it dawns on you when you see the 1985 sign that 1985 was when you graduated high school. That is, the person who is now 40 was born the same year you graduated. Then you continue walking, but more keenly aware of the aches and pains with each subsequent step.
Heh. I'm just a little over that age myself, Dave. ;)
ReplyDeleteHurts, don't it? :)
DeleteMy husband turned 50 this year. It was weird because I met his mother when she was 49, and one of the first things we did as an engaged couple was her 50th birthday party. I think he has aged very well, whereas his mother was always older in my mind. Perspective is such a funny thing 😅
ReplyDeleteSimilarly, I realized at one point that when I was in middle school I was closer to the height of the Beatles than I am now to my middle school years. Time is such a funny thing!
Whoops, that was my comment!
