If you don't like either, fear not. The different readings of this latest declaration are indeed legion, for they are many. And perhaps, more than anything, that is the saddest part of this entire papacy. After a decade of Pope Francis, I'm afraid modern Catholics could teach Protestants a thing or two.

The African Latin Bishops are right.
The Hungarian Latin Bishops are right.
Only those who think the reigning pope is the Catholic faith are arguing otherwise.
Alas, they have the power of the office and the hyperdulia surrounding it in their favor, but that's not much of a moral argument.
I tend to favor those who are honest about the reality of things, even if I disagree. As opposed to those who must bend reality into a pretzel in ways that would shame Orwell.
