Vatican spokesman gets it right

After initially following the same trend as others who chose to condemn free speech in the wake of the riots around the Muslim world, the Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi decided it was time to turn attention to the slaughter of innocent people.

Nice to see, but a day late and a dollar short. Again, that love/hate relationship that the global Catholic Church has with the US has been on display, as the initial reactions from many sources took the low road of condemning people for insulting the religion of peace, less its advocates shoot more nuns.  Now, since any person with more than a brain cell can see that these riots are about issues well beyond any film produced by an Egyptian Coptic Christian, it appears that some are backtracking and actually focusing on the multiple deaths and murders that have happened in the last several days.
