The Handmaid's Joke

Made funnier by the author of that silly thing.  When thinking of the threats to women - who are quickly overtaking men in a growing number of areas in modern life - the person we need to worry about is?  Guess.  Mike Pence!

Mike Pence?  As one liberal pro-feminist man after another is accused of assault and sexual harassment, we need to worry about Mister 'Treat Women with old-fashioned dignity and grace' Pence?  The Handmaid's Tale is leftist feminist dribble; a dystopian warning against a world in which women aren't the dominant force, putting their desires above all other considerations, and holding the very definition of life and death in their hands as they see fit.  Men to grovel and debase themselves accordingly.

The Dying West is, of course, dying.  That's why it's called the Dying West.  Equality for women was always a noble goal.  But it has been corrupted and perverted, as have so many contributions that the West brought to the table.

As the West dies, I wonder how many other civilizations will decide to jettison everything the West brought to the world - including notions of equality, liberty, Democracy and freedom.  After all, as the West goes out and shoots itself in the head, those civilizations could be forgiven for not distinguishing between the more noble contributions of the West, and the ghastly perversions and insanity that came to infect them.

  1. So, if women control everything, why are there so very few of us in Congress? Why is there a man in the White House, one who quite specifically used the hatred of powerful women to get there? Why are there so few of us running corporations? If we are so damned powerful, WHERE ARE WE?

As for Pence, he wants women to go back home and be subservient to males, just like you do. You have no love for actual women; you want doormats who have to grovel to your every idiot whim to continue eating ahd living indoors. (And if you think that is an irrational rant, then what should I think about your delusion that women run the world?)

    1. Your first mistake: I never said 'women control everything.' Note the use of 'I'll say you said something you didn't, then proceed to point out you're wrong.' Had I said that, I would be wrong. But per multiple reports over the last decade or so, women are overtaking, or gaining, on men in such a way that, if trends continue, they may well dominate most venues in society within the next generation or so. Bad news for equality.

As for me, I stay at home and am the primary caregiver for my Mom, who has several health issues making it impossible for her to care for herself. I find what extra income I can, but generally have the home front. My wife, on the other hand, is the main breadwinner, climbing the corporate ladder and doing quite well with it. So if I want women to say home and be doormats, I'm doing a rather dismal job of it. Fact is, we realized with the winds in the corporate world blowing the way they were, it would be easier for my wife - as a woman - to move farther and faster than me as a 50 year old. And we were right.

So, your second point is dashed on the rock of reality, as so many modern, liberal perspective typically are when you move past the judgmentalism and rage and rhetoric.

    2. why are there so very few of us in Congress?

You've got to run to get elected.

Why is there a man in the White House, one who quite specifically used the hatred of powerful women to get there?

Dishonest and untrue assumptions loaded into the question. Hard to argue that he's some representation of hatred of powerful women when his party was previously (and often still is) so enthusiastic about Sarah Palin or Condolezza Rice.

Maybe try living in the real world and less in a cliche - you'll probably find yourself happier.

Why are there so few of us running corporations?

Because as has been repeatedly pointed out, running corporations SUX and it takes a certain amount of insanity to do it. Women rightly figure that it's wiser to invest in a family.

If we are so damned powerful, WHERE ARE WE?

Yeah I mean... you could only cause the extinction of the entire human race if you all collectively decided to (kind of like how entire nations are going extinct now because so many women choose abortion).

What possible power can the sex which holds the keys to survival possibly hold?? /sarc

(And if you think that is an irrational rant, then what should I think about your delusion that women run the world?)

Maybe try reading what he actually said.

And looking up some actual science. As well as facts. History. Maybe just try being rational for once and dealing with what's actually there rather than the phantoms of your imagination.

    3. Oh wow.... it's like one of those feminists that interview Jordan Peterson.... only to misunderstand Every. Single. Thing. He. Says.

      Karen, cool the hysterics.

"And if you think that is an irrational rant, then what should I think about your delusion that women run the world?"....

You could start by thinking that you have poor reading comprehension.
