Pope Francis talks China
And tells us not to worry about the emerging China. I'm sure I don't worry. Not in the sense of 'crawling into a corner and covering my eyes' worry. But I'm one who doesn't believe that notions of equality, liberty, freedom and the sanctity of life came out of the Dying West by accident. I therefore can't help but wonder what the world will look like when the West no longer dominates, but another culture does. Will that culture have adopted the best of what the West offered in time? Do we in the West even remember the positives that Western Civilization brought to the historical table? I'm not worried in the worst respect, since whatever happens will likely occur long after I, or even my children and their children, have passed from this earthly life into the hereafter. But in the broader sense of history's general trajectory, yeah, I am a little concerned.
