One of the slick tactics of the progressive movement

Is to declare tolerance and diversity by crushing the same.  This is achieved by saying they want tolerance of all things but hate and bigotry, and then declaring failure to see it their was as the definition of hate and bigotry.

This was the Lynn principle.  Years ago, Barry Lynn made it clear that it was fine for religious leaders to attempt to mandate congress follow a particular course regarding gay marriage.  That's because they weren't promoting a point of view, or even a religious view.  They were promoting Truth. Likewise, religious beliefs that include discrimination and hatred have no business being part of our public discourse.

So whenever those who associated with more progressive sensitivities say things like 'we just want to punish bigotry or hate', I begin to itch.  The same thing happened to my boys before we pulled them into homeschool.  That was not the reason, but it was icing on the cake for our decision.  Armed with an LGBT club and weeks of rainbow posters, the school called together a special assembly to tackle bullying.  But the main focus was on leaving LGBT students alone.   Nothing clear and definite was said.  No actual threats.  Just threats of punishing any student who intimidated or bullied others, especially over the issues of LGBT.

But my boys, and many others, heard the underlying message quite clear: if you criticize or in any way speak against non-heterosexual normality, you will be presumed guilty where you stand.
