Duck Dynasty against abortion

Duck Dynasty?  What in the world is that? I've heard about it.  When I first heard of it, I thought it was some Chinese Restaurant thing on the Food Network.  I have to say, I'm not a big "Realty" TV show fan.  So in most cases, I can't see me getting into such things.  With that said, according to this article at least, someone on the show Duck Dynasty might be putting up a decent fight for the way of life as opposed to the way of death so common on most television today.  Maybe I'll buck up and watch an episode.  Hope it's true, and if it is, then God bless the man.

  1. Here's where the main website is:

You should be able to find some whole episodes on there. Heck, the patriarch, Phil Robertson, used to play football so there's really no reason you shouldn't like the show. ;-)

  2. Oh, and I say the best way to fight abortion? Adoption. Fight one life at a time. So yeah, the "star" of the show (it's really more ensemble) has fought it. :)

  3. So tell me, what's the gist of the show? I don't watch much TV in general anymore, and not reality shows as a general rule. What's the 'theme'?

  4. It's... kind of hard to describe.

It's not unlike a sitcom (day in the life) but it's... real-ish.

The backstory is that the patriarch, Phil, invented a duck call that is one of the best ever made. His 3rd son, Willie, took the call and built it up into a multi-million dollar business.

So... they're rich, but they're still very much rednecks and "home boys". I think your family will love it.

  5. Ok, like here's one. The 4th season which just started airing. Phil & Miss Kay (mom & pop) got married at like... 16 & 18 I think. They were young and dirt poor. So poor that they apparently never had much of an "official" wedding. So for their anniversary (I think it's the 50th), all the boys and their wives are putting on a wedding for them.

Still watching it, but it's showing what they're doing to prepare... the uncle's (who is a TEXTBOOK definition of lovable, crazy uncle) efforts to keep Phil & Miss Kay distracted.

Oh, and every episode ends with Phil saying grace over a table filled with food and his family. Really, when was the last time you saw prayer on television? (though the family is protestant, don't hold that against them)
