Science has given us flight, the moon landing, cured countless diseases, given us a green revolution. People look at all that and say that all the prayer in the world won't get you to the moon, or to Israel from America, or cure someone of smallpox, or feed the hungry.<br /><br />That's what I think a lot of people are missing about Jordan Peterson. He IS explaining to people why we do need religion. Science may get us to the moon, but religion gives us a reason to bother. There's even more reasons we need it too, but they're not immediately obvious, it takes deep thinking to grasp this.<br /><br />And we have an entire generation trained not to think deeply. He's at least encouraging them to step beyond the immediate and think more.
