It just shows ...I know exactly what you are saying. It just shows that as we get older and can look back at the history of our lifetime and how things are depicted today, it makes you wonder about what we have learned in this world. Have we learned anything about freedom and how fleeting it is? Or have we learned anything about people and how they change over time. Face it the same people that were saying things like in the 80s and 90s are still the ones saying the opposite today. Baby boomers who have never let we of the lost generation be a part of anything.deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02320102107597835487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6226269873507053740.post-86333057464611357692010-08-20T10:48:41.840-04:002010-08-20T10:48:41.840-04:00I'm all for freedom of speech, and freedom to ...I'm all for freedom of speech, and freedom to get mad at speech, and people acting like mature adults in how they use their speech. What strikes me is that, as late as the early 90s, anyone who dared suggest banning, boycotting, or stopping (through market forces and protest, not the government) were tossed into the Big Brother Basket. Now, we're being told that such is actually a pure and wonderful form of freedom of speech. It's the hypocrisy that bothers me. If the Left had always said 'look, we're right, your're wrong, and we'll do what we can to make it official', I wouldn't be half bothered. But all those years about diversity, Diversity, DIVERSITY! and then Bam! it all changes. That's what offends me as much as anything offends me.David Griffeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06629314279592541401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6226269873507053740.post-2616696439195797122010-08-20T10:37:57.500-04:002010-08-20T10:37:57.500-04:00Ah yes censorship! Where have we gone wrong? Yes w...Ah yes censorship! Where have we gone wrong? Yes we should be careful with what we say and how we say it, but we do have the right to say it. We should think of the settings we are in and the people whom we are speaking to. That is self censorship (or common sense). Just like this comment right now. I could have said any number of other things that could have caused you to delete the comment from your post, but I am censoring what I am saying myself because I do not wish to be offensive to anyone. I am sure that there are plenty of people who do the same all the time. It would be a good idea if those who are in the public eye would think a little more about those who are listening or reading than they do. It is a mindset that you have to develop I suppose, but a mindset that is a necessity for communication. People listening can be offended by any number of things that are said, but eliminating the most offensive things is a must in proper communication.

Ok I will get off the soap box and just say. I have the right to say anything I bleebing well please, I choose not to - I censor my words so that I may be heard by more people.
I have become all things to all people so that I may reach some- Ok so that is paraphrased.deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02320102107597835487noreply@blogger.com
